Facilitate the introduction of tourists to the natural and community life in the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve. Through our tourist services we promote learning, observation and participation in the conservation of the region.

With the assistance of Sierra Gorda Ecotours, visitors will contribute to and participate in the conservation and sustainable development of the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve and its associated areas of influence.

Working for Sierra Gorda over the past 20 years:

Sierra Gorda Ecotours is an organization founded by the Ecological Group Sierra Gorda I.A.P. and the Biosphere Reserve. Since 1987, the Ecological Group has been fighting to reestablish the natural balance in the region and to promote development for the local population on personal, social, cultural and economic levels. Thanks to the Ecological Group's efforts, the land achieved its 'reserve' status in 1997.

We work only with certified local park guides and the majority of accommodations for visitors included in our packages are owned and maintained by community cooperatives who receive our training and support. In this way, we can guarantee quality service to visitors while simultaneously stimulating the local economy by redirecting revenues back into the community.
 

THE REVENUES GENERATED BY SIERRA GORDA ECOTOURS ARE REINVESTED IN AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PROGRAMS AND INTO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
