The educational
eco-camps allow children to approach the natural world in a
practical way. With an emphasis on working in groups, children learn
new ways to relate to the environment and about everyone's
responsibility to protect it.
The subjects that are
covered at the eco-camps are the following:
*
Environmental Education *
-
Human
impacts on
the environment: workshops on recycling
-
Water quality: physical, chemical,
bacteriological

*
Understanding Ecosystems
*
-
Observing flora and
fauna.
-
Getting to know the Biosphere Reserve: topography, hydrology,
flora and fauna.

*Learning to work in groups*
-
Awareness training
-
Educational games

*
Participating in community life
*

In all eco-camp
programs, children will learn to use scientific instruments such as
GPS, compasses, microscopes etc. In addition, art classes allow the
children to develop artistic skills and promote creativity. Art
workshops include: making puppets, reusing recycled material in
creative ways (ludoplasty) and filigree, among other activities.
*
Over vacation and
during the school year
*
Children of the same age
are able to share a unique experience over school vacation with our
fun environmental programs.
Workshops, activities
and environmentally focused games are offered to schools as a
complement to their official scholastic program.
Program packages are
prepared based on specific school needs, both in terms of program
duration as well as educational style depending on the age level of
a given group.
Year after
year, our educational eco-camps have been successfully received by
participating schools. |
