The Earth Center Sierra Gorda, is the result of many years of lived experience; experience that the Grupo Ecológico Sierra Gorda I.A.P has developed through 19 years implementing its work in the local mountains and communities, through productive training, environmental education, community organization, management of projects, reforestation, restoration and protection of land/ soil, conservation of wildlife, as well as having pioneering experiences in other areas. Building networks of work and cooperation from the local to the international levels have from the beginning been the strength and the characterization of the project, which has allowed the reinforcement of a social initiative for the otherwise unprecedented conservation in the country. The educative offer of the Centre Earth provides this unique support, which curriculum and materials have been developed by various experts, focused on the different levels of training that the organization offers.

Objetives

  • Offer education and training the contexts and the experiences that have been acquired by the Sierra Gorda group through its programs applied in the field.
     

  • Outline and fortify environmental defenders in various themes involving sustainability and protection of the environment.
     

  • Share and replicate the experience lived by the projects of Sierra Gorda in other rural areas and mountain communities.
     

  • Establish and environmental conscience in the public services, as well as providing them with tools and knowledge, allowing them to adopt to a more environmental management.
     

  • Train and fortify the managerial capacity of groups of women and producers, in the reserve as well as in areas influenced by them.
     

  • Create bridges of cooperation, strategic analyses, synergies and networks of social participation.
     

  • Promote development and consolidation of ecosystem products.
