Grupo Ecológico Sierra Gorda I.A.P is our creator, and our educator par excellence as it offers the Earth Center successful experience in environmental education, sustainability, conservation, management of natural resourses, and fundraising. This institution has 20 years experience working for the conservation, natural richness, and sustainable developmentof the Sierra Gorda. Since 2006, when the Earth Center was launche the Group has sought to replicate its experience at various levels; both public and private. The Earth Center also has the support of many partners who have made links with the GESGIAP and now form part of our group of experts.

This is the Center for Education and Training for Sustaible Development which is part of the Secretaria of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) in Mexico. CECADESU works in designing projects, programs and strategies which promote a culture of respect and care for the environment in Mexican society. To this end, tools such as environmental education, training for sustainable development and educational communication are used.

The Autonomus University of Queretaro (UAQ), which is the highest tier of education in our state, endorses en Environmental Education Diploma through its faculty of Natural Sciences. This diploma has been taught at the Earth Center since 2006; "Strategies for Teaching- Learning for a Sustainable Future"

Nacional Monte de Piedad is for everyone; Centro Tierra was founded with the support of this philantropic institution that has motivated Mexican society the year 1775.

The campus in harmonious and spacious, equipped with state of the art technology that makes the day to day activities of Centro Tierra Sierra Gorda possible, promoting a love for nature and providing services for everyone, including the local community and society in general.

Since 2003 Nacional Monte de Piedad has been the benefactor of Centro Tierra.

The unit of educational services of Querétaro state is an independent body of the government, decreed in 1986 by the former mayor Enrique Burgos García. USEBEQ endorses the environmental education diploma wich is taught at the Earth Center and grants points which count towards its ranking system, a valuable asset for the teaching community.

This is a peruvian organization wich is made up of people who are dedicated to sustainable development; are experts in desing, have experience in influencing public policy and in implementation and evaluation of projects, and are linked with development of technologies. This staff also has experience in analytical documentation, investigation, and technical application via the implementation of new systems, and increased capabilities, especially regarding environmental and social management. Since the year 2006, this organization has formed part of the group of expert collaborators of the Earth Center especially regarding integrated management of solid waste.



Bosque Sustentable, A.C

Bosque Sustentable was established in 2001 with the objective of meeting the requirements of the project "Conservation of the Biodiversity of the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve" via a strategy of protection and sustainable use of resources. Since 2007, thanks to its ample experience in restoration, conservation, management and best use of forest resources, as well as protection of soils and development of viable alternatives, this association forms part of the group of experts that offer training at the Earth Center.

Since 2001, GESGIAP and the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve have collaborated with biologistsand engineers from the Pacific Northwest Research Station of the United States Forest Service, evaluating the condition of priority hydrological watersheds, determining appropriate land uses, surveying aquatic fauna apecies richness, and analyzing water quality, among other topics. During 2006 researches from the Station came to the Sierra Gorda and gave a workshop title: " Constrution and Maintenance of Low Impact Rural Highways", the workshop was given to members of various government institutions and other Natural Protected Areas.


Ashoka Entrepreneurs for the Public

The Ashoka foundation was formed in 1981, Since then, it has offered support to more than 1,800 socil entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries that have made a difference trough their projects. The entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries that have made a difference through their projects. The entrepreneurs contribute new development models in diverse fields such as helping homeless children, improving livlihoods, and the protecting the environment. We have a good relationship with the Ashoka foundation as in 1995 Martha Ruíz Corzo, now Director of the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve, received a grant from Ashoka for her conservation and sustainable development project in the Sierra Gorda. Ashoka partners inspire each other to adopt their innovations, showing that any citizen can make a positive difference. In 2007, two of the Ashoka Social entrepreneurs, from Chile and Mexico, wiil share their experiences by training staff at the Earth Center.

Based in San Francisco, California this consultancy has existed since 2001 and has evaluated the social benefit af many projects around the worl. In our case, the process of evaluating the social benefit of conservation in the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve began in 2006. The evaluation took a close look at the wide array of benefits derived from the conservation and sustainable development project which was started at the Reserve in 1989. The project has been carried out with the communities of the Sierra Gorda as well as national and internationl actors that have joined the initiative. This year at the Earth Center a group of social entrepreneurs from all over tha worl will be trained in methods for the evaluation of the social return of various projects, thanks to backing from the Ashoka foundation.

GVE is a body of professional engineers that works whit rural communities in developing countries worlwide, in areas such as development of infraestructure and environmental protection. Members of GVE have been collaborating for some time with the GESGIAP and the reserve on various projects. They are experts in environmental impacts and sewage water treatment plants and have offered to help in the implementation and evaluation of various projects whitin the reserve. Members of GVE will be joining the group of experts at the Earth Center this year.
